VerSec Tools Overview

Network Device Scanner

The Network Device Scanner allows you to gather details fo the devices that have been connected to computers in your network without needing to install any software on those computers. Reports can then be produced from the data collected.

The Network Device Scanner is particularly useful when planning your VerSec rollout. For example you can assess the threat poised to your organization by certain devices by determining if those devices have ever been connected to your network previously.

Network Inventory Scanner

The Network Inventory Scanner allows you to gather inventory details of the computers in your network without needing to install any software on those computers. Reports can then be produced from the data collected.

The Network Inventory Scanner should not be confused with the Inventory Collection Policy.

The Inventory Collection policy is enforced by the VerSec client agents which perform collections at set intervals and the data collected is then centrally stored, which over time builds a historical record of all VerSec protected computers configurations.

In contrast the Network Inventory Scanner performs on demand collections and does not require client software to be installed. Both methods however collect the same data points and produce similar reports.
